Ministry

"Under His direction, the whole body is fitted together perfectly. As each part does it own special work, it helps the other parts grown, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love"

At Messiah, we believe that every one has a part to play in fulfilling God’s mission. Through the use of our gifts – our talents, our financial resources, and our time – we work together to do mission-driven ministry. With the layers of church bureaucracy removed, we have set in place a “permission- giving” ministry model. This means that you will be encouraged and supported in any ministry that is consistent with the congregation’s mission.

New ministry is blossoming all of the time at Messiah. It is rewarding to see congregational members and guests say, “Hey, I would love for us to have this type of ministry at Messiah” and then step forth to take charge. Recent new ministries include:

  1. Musicians of Revelation – our praise band - leading our contemporary worship
  2. Youth planned awareness campaign on Darfur
  3. Dinners for Eight small group fellowships
  4. Progressive Dinner Fellowships
  5. Older youth becoming worship time buddies to our younger children
  6. Multi-generational groups helping congregational and community members during natural disasters
  7. A taskforce exploring the possibility of a Messiah sponsored daycare/pre-school
  8. A ChristCare small group for single moms
  9. A Sunday School class specifically for 2 year olds to accommodate the rapid growth of children in our pre-school classes
  10. Yoga classes for congregational and community members
  11. Kids Care Club - Children participate in a different volunteer project each week
  12. Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University Class for congregational and community members

Looking at this list gives an indication of why Messiah congregation is healthy, growing and full of love! With each member of the body encouraged to do his or her special part, we accomplish the wonderful mission God has set before us!
