Ministry
"Under His direction, the whole body is fitted together perfectly. As each part does it own special work, it helps the other parts grown, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love"
Ephesians 4:1
At Messiah, we believe that every one has a part to play in fulfilling God’s mission. Through the use of our gifts – our talents, our financial resources, and our time – we work together to do mission-driven ministry. With the layers of church bureaucracy removed, we have set in place a “permission- giving” ministry model. This means that you will be encouraged and supported in any ministry that is consistent with the congregation’s mission.
New ministry is blossoming all of the time at Messiah. It is rewarding to see congregational members and guests say, “Hey, I would love for us to have this type of ministry at Messiah” and then step forth to take charge. Recent new ministries include:
- A ChristCare Small Group for Spanish speakers
- A bi-lingual radio broadcast
- Kids Zone – a weekly gathering for elementary aged children with Christian focused activities and outreach
- Pilates classes for congregational and community members
- Homerun for Health – a congregational wide initiative encouraging intentional healthy life style choices
- Relay for Life Team – led by a team of our youth
- Hitched and Happy Classes – marriage enrichment classes for community and congregational members in partnership with Operation US
- Guys, Grills and God – a fun event combining the love of grilling and the outdoors with an understanding of who God is in our lives
Looking at this list gives an indication of why Messiah congregation is healthy, growing and full of love! With each member of the body encouraged to do his or her special part, we accomplish the wonderful mission God has set before us!
- What kind of ministry is already happening at Messiah?
- I want to contact Kris Callen, Ministries Coordinator, about getting involved in an existing ministry.
- I would like to fill out a GIFTS form (Growing in Faith Through Service) and commit myself to serving within the congregation
- I have an idea or a prompting from God regarding a new ministry.
