Dear Saints,

Greetings in the name of our crucified, risen, and ascended Lord and coming Savior Jesus Christ!

I am writing to thank you for your generous support of Ukrainian refugees arriving in our area. Messiah’s Ukrainian Refugee Ministry is going well thanks to the vision of the Congregational Care Committee, leadership from the Ad Hoc Committee, and your generosity.

Now, that the first Phase is behind us and a family of four has settled into the South Kings House, we are moving full speed ahead. In the second Phase of this Ministry, there are a few things that you should know, and we need your cooperation with.

A Support Committee was appointed to oversee this phase. The committee is Genny Maroc (chairperson), Loretta Knutson, Scott Estrem, Marty Gentry, Jeanie Bardy, and Charles Hill. Marty has decided to limit herself to helping the kids with their academic programs.

Now, it is very important that you contact the Support Committee to coordinate any outreach to our Ukrainian guests. That said, communication is essential because we do not want to overwhelm our guests. Also, we would like to avoid duplication and prevent misunderstanding. So, I am asking that you be in touch with the Support Committee before making plans to help our guests. You can also connect with the Support Committee through the church office.

Finally, I want to assure you that we are assisting Lana with legal immigration services. We are committed to assisting her with legal representation for two reasons. Firstly, it is essential that the family stays united. Secondly, she is the only one in the family with English language skills. The success of their transition into our culture depends on her role as spouse, mother, and chief communicator. So, I am working with Genny to ensure that Lana maintains legal status. You can help by contributing to the Ukrainian Refugee Fund since it will cost quite a bit of money. Thank you for putting your faith into action and God bless.

In Christ’s service,

Pastor Orin
