Dear Saints,
Greetings in the name of our crucified, risen, and ascended Lord and coming Savior Jesus Christ!
I am writing to ask for your kind cooperation in two matters.
Many of you know that with aging comes challenges. One such challenge presents itself when driver’s license is surrendered. You lose your independence and that can be a difficult transition. Or sickness prohibits you from driving and suddenly you feel homebound or alone and isolated.
As a church, we see the challenge as an opportunity to serve those in need. For us to help those who would like to continue attending church but can no longer drive themselves or should not be driving, we want to hear from you.
A survey is being prepared for all members to fill out. It will allow us to know the extent of the need for transportation to and from church services. Also, we hope to gather information to compile a list of members who are willing to provide transportation. Depending on numbers, we could put the church bus to work as needed. Therefore, we ask for your assistance. Tell us if you need a ride. Also, tell us if you would volunteer to drive the bus and accompany the bus driver on pickup and drop off runs.
Secondly, on the first weekend in November, we will celebrate the festival of All Saints. So, I am asking you to call the church office and let us know of anyone in your family or close to you who passed since November 6, 2021. We will light candles in their memory and give thanks for their completed life in liturgy and song.
Finally, be looking for the survey and plan to join us on the first weekend in November when we will give thanks to God for all triumphant saints.
In Christ’s service,
Pastor Orin
