Dear Saints,

Greetings in the name of our crucified, risen, and ascended Lord and coming Savior Jesus Christ!

I am thankful to God for the labor of love coordinated by Charles Hill on Saturday, August 13. Twenty Seven members worked over a seven hour period to improve considerably the property at 2145 South Kings Street that later this week will become a home for a Ukrainian refugee family. You made a statement that Christ’s love for the Seminole/Holland community and Ukrainian refugees is alive through Messiah’s mission.

Following the house blessing yesterday, tomorrow, we anticipate a generous ingathering of items in preparation for the family’s transition into the house. I thank you in advance for your generosity and Rose Hohbein and her team of helpers who are ready to receive your donations.

Also, I write to inform you that all temporary access codes to the church and Daycare Center are discontinued. If you do not have an assigned access code and need to access the church, please be in touch with the church office during regular office hours. You should plan ahead for weekend access to avoid any difficulties with scheduled meetings.

Finally, a word of heartfelt thanks to all who assisted with 2022 VBS. Jessica Atchison did an excellent job as coordinator and was ably assisted by April, Richard and Hudson Gebken, Louann Sherman and Megan Melgren who prepared dinners, Drew Bowman for A/V services, and Nadine Megren, Becky Roark, Nyah and Katie Dogwiler, and Nathanael Cummings as tribe leaders, David Siewert and Scott Estrem as storytellers, Angie Meyers and her helpers in craft time, Mary Keidle for leading games, Rachel Bergin and her nieces Mara and Reaghan for leading celebration time, Karen Bowman as registrar, Megan and Tara Melgren for wall art, and Sydney Marsh for video and photography. In addition, we are very appreciative of Angie Messner, Tammy Jahnke, Pastor Carl Gauck and others from Prince of Peace whose gifts and leadership contributed to the success of VBS. Also, we thank parents for bringing your children and trusting us to teach them the faith.

In Christ’s service,

Pastor Orin
