Music Ministries

The bible tells us to “break” into song, sing praise!” Music Ministry encourages full participation by leading prayer and praise. It is a great privilege to help others worship more deeply, not to mention the benefits of “praying twice.” All that is required to join is your faithful commitment to rehearsals and a desire to “make a joyful noise.”

Vocal Choirs

• Wee Ones is a music-based educational praise time for our Messiah children, birth through Pre-K. We will sing Bible songs, play instruments, and listen to stories all while enjoying music and playing at each child's individual capabilities. 

Ages: Infant- Pre- K

Rehearsals: Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m.

• God's Kids is our K-5th grade choir. Together we will learn songs to worship God and provide music at Sunday services. Children participate in learning music, understanding our role in worship, and learning God's word through music.

Ages: K – 5th Grade

Rehearsals: Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m.

• J-Walkers (Jesus- Walkers) is a vocal choir for students 6 th through 12 th grades. This choir is now accepting ALL levels of singers!!! Once a month we will “sing a new song unto the Lord” during Saturday or Sunday worship services.

Ages: Grades 6th-12th

Rehearsals: Mondays at 4:30 p.m.

• Alleluia Singers is a group for college aged through adult voices. We rehearse at 7:30 pm- 8:45 pm in the choir room (E 127). We plan to sing three Sundays per month at the 8:30 am traditional service.  The choir serves as cantor for the liturgy and offers a prepared anthem. We offer a good mixture of contemporary and classical sacred music.

Ages: College and up

Rehearsals: Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m.

• Revelations meets on Friday evenings at 5:30 and Sunday mornings at 8:30 to prepare for the 11:00 service. We always are eager to welcome additional musicians- either voice, instrument, or both!

Ages: Young adult and up

Rehearsals: Fridays at 5:30 p.m.

Hand Bell Choirs

• Cherub Chimes Cherub Chimes is a chime choir for children from kindergarten through 2nd grade. The Ringers learn music basics as they build ringing skills and learn the joy of coming together as a team to prepare music for worship services. We practice weekly and ring approximately once a month during choir year during a worship service.

Ages: K – 2nd Grade

Rehearsals: Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m.

• Cherub Bells is a youth choir that offers (performs) handbell music for church services.  Ages range from 3rd grade to high school.  The rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings at 6:00-6:30 pm with a change in time during Lent to 5:45-6:15pm.  Offerings are about one per month and are generally at the 9:30 Sunday service.  Music can range from choir only pieces to duets with other choirs, solo instruments, or vocalists.  Knowledge of music is welcomed but not a requirement.  If you want to learn about music, this is a beginner friendly choir.

Ages: 3 – High School

Rehearsals: Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m.

• Good Vibrations is a seasonal handbell choir for students who want to ring but can’t make it to practice every Wednesday night because of other school commitments.  We rehearse on Wednesday evenings during December in preparation for participation in the Sunday School Christmas Program and Christmas Eve services. We will rehearse again in the spring in order to ring at Palm Sunday or Easter Sunday services.

Ages: 6th – 12th Grade

Rehearsals: Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m.

• Joy Ringers is our adult handbell choir. We practice weekly and ring approximately once a month during the choir year. We enjoy making music together, contributing to our worship services, and sometimes ring for other special occasions.

Ages: College adults and up

Rehearsals: Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m.
