CHILDREN'S MINISTRIES
Throughout the year there are many opportunities for children of all ages.

Cradle Ministry
Educational materials are mailed to church families when a child is born and every three months until the child reaches the age of three and is able to attend Sunday School. These materials allow for parents to be the child's first teacher.

Backpack Blessing
Each year prior to the beginning of school, youth are invited to bring their backpacks to church for a special blessing.

Presentation of Bibles to 2nd Graders
In fulfillment of the promise made to children at Baptism to "place in their hands the Holy Scriptures”, Messiah provides Bibles to 2nd Graders in September.

Reformation Celebration
During the Sunday School hour on the last Sunday of October, the Sunday School kids have a special lesson based around the life and times of Martin Luther.

Trunk or Treat
Messiah's Halloween activity -- It is an event for both the congregation and the neighborhood! Volunteers are needed for all the fun activities from decorating vehicles to handing out treats.

Advent Adventures
During the season of Advent, activities and fun are planned for kids ages 3-grade 6 on a Saturday morning at Messiah.

Christmas Program
Preparation for the annual program begins in late fall with all ages involved in this musical and drama presentation. It is usually held during service on the Sunday before Christmas.

First Communion
Fourth Graders receive instruction and make bread together in preparation for their First Communion which takes place at the Maundy Thursday service.

Easter Festival
To celebrate Jesus' resurrection and the joy of Spring an egg hunt with planned activities is held at Messiah on Easter Sunday.

Vacation Bible School
VBS is held annually during June, July or August. Ages 3-grade 5 meet in the evenings for one week with learning and fun activities based on Bibles stories. The neighborhood is invited to attend this themed event.
